We read this one last night. It is one of our favorite books. It SO reminds me of my youngest daughter. She is so melodramatic and has those days when she feels like EVERYONE is picking on her and her sisters are getting EVERYTHING! :) Especially the cereal. As a parent of three you have to make hard choices- 1) Buy the cereal with no toys that tastes like cardboard flakes or 2) Hide the cereal until you have time to get the toy out, re-seal the box, and then pretend the company left the toy out of that box. After we read this one, the kids always will say for two or three days "I am just going to go to Australia".
SUPER BOOK! Great for young kids and older ones as well. Alexander just strikes a chord with me and my kids because let's face it, we ALL have days like his from time to time. Nothing goes right, you are at odds with everyone, you tear up everything you touch and it just seems easier to go to Australia. But then you go to bed that night and even though you don't get the pillow that you wanted and your favorite light is gone, you get a do over once you go to sleep and it all starts fresh the next day. I love it!
